Mary J. Goodwin-Oquendo

Mary J. Goodwin-Oquendo, a Brooklyn native, first joined Jo Anne Simon PC in 2008. Mary holds a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University (Class of 2009) and a Bachelor of Arts in History & Political Science from St. Joseph’s College (Class of 2006). Mary’s passion for disability advocacy was ignited when she was a child and witnessed how hard her mother had to fight to make sure that her younger brother received appropriate special education placement and services.

Mary is fully dedicated to ensuring equality of opportunity for all.  She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is an appointed member of the Committee on Disability Rights.  She has lectured at private schools, including colleges and law schools.  She has served on the executive board of the New York Urban League Young Professionals and the National Urban League Young Professionals Programs Committee, and has worked with various other non-profit and professional organizations to fight for equal justice for all.
